Edit a picture, turn it into a stylish postcard, add a good looking frame, add captions and clipart to it, you can do all that and more with the AMS Software-developed application Photo Art Studio. The best thing about the application is that it is quite user friendly. You will not have any problems turning your images into something astonishing with this application’s help.

To get started with Photo Art Studio you will first have to download a 22.2MB archive off the web and onto your computer. Extract the contents of the archive, run setup.exe, and a simple setup wizard will appear and guide you through the installation process. It’s all a very simple process that you shouldn’t have any problems with.

You won’t have any problems getting accustomed to the application’s interface either. At the top there are these nice big buttons for opening an image, selecting the effects you want to apply, saving and printing the image. The large pane to the left presents the image you selected for editing. To the right there’s a dropdown menu for choosing effects and a preview window that presents all the available effects. When you launch Photo Art Studio, the pane to the right presents your recently accessed images.

Photo Art Studio is a very user friendly application. Say you want to add a nice frame to one of your images. To load that image you need to click the big Open button from the upper left hand corner. Then you need to hit the Effects button; from the Effects Browser pane, where all the available effects are presented, you need to select Picture Frames. All the available frames will be displayed in the pane to the right; browse through them until you find the one you like, double click it and it will be merged with your image. If the alignment isn’t just right, you can manually move your image around so everything fits perfectly.

There are numerous other effects you can play with: Borders, Collages, Captions, Clip Art, Greeting Cards, and so on. Browse through them to find out how they look and how they could be used to enhance your image’s looks.

Please note that Photo Art Studio is only free to try – you can use it for free only for a limited amount of runs (a reminder will tell you how many runs you have left every time you launch the application).

The ease of use is Photo Art Studio’s best selling point: it’s incredibly easy to enhance your images with this photo editing application.

Pros

There are numerous effects to choose from; use these effects to edit your images. The interface is very user friendly. It takes little time to get Photo Art Studio up and running on your PC. The images you accessed recently are displayed in the lower right hand side on the application’s interface. Support for skins is provided.

Cons

Free to use for 30 runs. The preview function did not work. Open an image, add an effect, save, open the saved image – the selected effect is not added.
